This is What a 2016 VW Passat R Could Look Like

VW could create a real giant killer if it were to make a spruced up version of its all-new Passat.

Giving it 400 horses under the bonnet, rear wheel drive and sharper handling could see it face off against established hot saloons (and estates) - would be all the more convincing reason for Ford to consider making a Mondeo ST and Opel/Vauxhal to up the power of the Insignia OPC/VXR.

Star Trek made William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy super-famous, though not necessarily by their real names.

We’re thrilled to hear that Heinz-Jakob Neusser, the head of VW’s powertrain development arm, believes the people’s brand can have an “R” version of each and every model in the range. He thinks this is an applicable thought that’s only constrained by “customer demand and commercial viability.”

Man Behind the Original VW Beach Buggy Explains his Creation

The VW-based dune/beach buggy concept could not have come from anywhere else but California. The original idea came to Bruce Meyers in the early 1960s, and by 1965 he had already hand-built 12 prototypes in his shop – he was formerly a boat builder with a background as an engineer and artist, and he admits that he “spent a lot of time in school.”

Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan Alltrack, Anybody?

VW would probably make a higher-riding version of its new Golf Sportsvan (SV) minivan if they were not aware of it eating into Tiguan sales. They’d really have no reason not to, especially since there are rival companies that are already doing it – Renault Scenic XMOD is an example.
